OEM
Tuesday, November 11th, 2008OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. This term is used in the computer industry commonly. It is used to refer a practice a system where components, parts and programs from other manufacturers are installed in the computer unit. If a user demands the installation of computer programs and components from other manufacturers, then the PC manufacturer will have to install these components and software from software maker. The installation of components and programs with software will be termed as OEM. There is much OEM software available and Panda OEM software is one of them.
OEM software is well known in the computer industry mainly for the security for a long time. Many developers, designers and marketers use OEM. It is also used as a spyware, span and firewall applications. OEM is installed by the computer manufacturers to attract the computer users and it is the demand of the buyers to install the OEM. The demand of the OEM software is much higher among the buyers but the problem is that OEM installation is very costly. Due to this reason, now there are many fake OEM installers also found in the market.
This fake OEM software is also made quite similar to the original OEM software and the buyer still make no difference between the two. Now there is more and more OEM software piracy in the market which is very alarming thing. The re-branded components of the computer unit are known as OEM. It is worth noting that all the components of a computer are not designed by single manufacturer as they are large in number. The installation of these components is made in a computer unit upon the purchase of a customer. The standard OEM software is developed by Microsoft and you must prefer it in your computer unit.
